Car Audio and parts operation
55Understand how this Concept of Auto Sound
What have in common the scheduled trip in advance, the output to the club and that sunny Sunday with you the way to the beach? Your favorite music playing in your car stereo, of course.
The sound passes through various equipment that can really reach your ears. Meet
each of the components of your auto sound system is one of the surest
ways to have a quality sound, with equipment that will last and provide
good leisure time.
Everything starts in the player from the dashboard. There are models simpler: just to play CDs, or conventional mp3 players ranging from 20 up to 200 songs. The thing increments a little more with the models that have features as input for pen drive and bluetooth technology. In this case you can even play music from other devices like cellphones and iPods. The player the sound of your car can become an entertainment center complete with screens, DVD and more.
Mounting your Soundstage
Imagine yourself at the concert of their favorite band. Close your eyes and hear each instrument clearly, feel the depth of sound and spatial location of each type of sound. It is a unique experience and it is what you should ride in your car. Therefore,
you have to imagine sitting in front of the stage, voice and music must
come from the front of the car and not behind.
Which brings us to the second major category of equipment in your system auto sound: the speakers, or speakers. You know they are not all equal?
Each type has its Characteristics and Functions:
-
Loudspeakers: there is a good technical solution, because there is no
speaker that can play the entire audible frequency range (20 to 20KHz)
at the same time. They are made of paper and rigid rim sizes from 3 "to 6". There
are also those with acute diffuser, a smaller cone in the center of the
speaker in order to better reproduce high frequencies.
- Coaxial: composed of two speakers in one piece - for bass (woofer) and highs (tweeter). Ranging in size from 3 "to 6x9" and now with the rubber edge. We currently have professional coaxial 12 "and 15", but instead we have a horn tweeter.
- Horns: for reproducing midrange frequencies to high frequencies. Cone composed of plastic or metal which can be separated from its main body.
- Triaxial tests and Quadriaixiais: have three and four speakers in the same part for the reproduction of bass, mid and treble. It is a cheap option to replace a kit with separate speakers. In
this type, each speaker is made to work best in each frequency range,
optimizing the set (woofer for bass, mid-range to medium-tweeter for
treble and super-tweeter to "super-acute (acute near 12KHz) . Their size varies from 5 "to 6x9".
- Subwoofers: specific speakers to play sounds very serious below 120Hz. Their size ranges from 8 "to 21". Are heavy and so you need much power to make them work, from 100W to 1500W RMS.
- Woofer: very similar to the subwoofer, the main difference being the frequency band worked, around 100Hz to 1kHz. Has strict border, its size varies from 5 "to 18".
- MidBass: specifically designed to play middle-low frequency, around 100Hz to 5kHz. It has rubber edge for better reproduction of low frequencies, similar to the subwoofer. Size from 5 "to 8".
- Midrange: mid frequencies to 200 Hz to 5kHz pertaining to virtually all musical instruments. Generally 3 to 4 inches.
- Tweeter: For the high frequencies from 2kHz to 20kHz. Are
very small, between 0.5 "to 3" and made of different types of materials
such as paper, aluminum, glass, plastic derivatives, niobium,
neodymium, titanium, etc.
Question of Power
When
choosing speakers for your stereo, keep an eye on the indicated power
without, of course, be deceived by the exaggerated figures of the
manufacturers. PMPO
power measured in (which is supported by a peak power voltage with a
duration of milliseconds) is not reliable, because there is so far
reliable standard for this measure. The most reliable value is the RMS power, the real power of the speakers. With this value you can compare the speakers of the market.
The
RMS power indicates the maximum power that the speaker supports long as
it is reproducing the full frequency range for which it was
manufactured, that is, the power that it supports the work by a lot of
time playing music.
Installation is the Question
Even if you go ride the sound at a specialty shop, you should be aware of one important figure: the assembler. Look
for specialized companies (no "backyard", or "friend of a friend") and
also check with the builder customers about their work, swiftly and
responsibly. Some automotive sound systems need an investment of more "serious" equipment. It is worth leaving your investment in the hand of anyone? Of course not.
Chosen professional, stay tuned to the project mounted. Usually, there are two major types of projects:
- The kits that you purchase already prepared, consisting of four coaxial or triaxial. These can be connected directly from the player with a satisfactory operation.
-
Those who buy the separate parts (Subwoofer MidBass, midrange and
tweeter), to more "snap" sound, ie, more power, you will need to invest
in amplifiers. The installation of these cases is not done directly on the player. This is because each speaker is constructed to reproduce certain frequency range. This
requires using a device called "crossover", which picks up the song
with the frequency of 20Hz to 20kHz and divide it into two or three
channels with different frequency bands, one for each speaker. This piece is critical to providing better definition of sound.
Paying
attention to these details, choosing equipment manufacturers recognized
and specialized professionals, the sound of your car has everything to
relax and have fun during their hours in traffic!
